The Novelty House was established in 2022 and is a black female owned business based in Ottawa, Canada. Each item at The Novelty House is inspired by our favourite books & fandoms! Our hope is that we create pieces you can wear everyday; a subtle expression of your fandom love.
We initially thought that creating designs would be the best part of running this business, but interacting with all of you has certainly taken the cake! Thank you so much for supporting our small shop; I'll see you in the booksphere!

OWNER & FOUNDER
Hi, I'm Riley! The Novelty House has been a real creative outlet for me and a way to share my love of fantasy stories with other fellow fans. I wear many hats here at The House - designer, web guru, social media maven, model, reviewer and reader - but most of all I'm just a fan. Maintaining my love of reading is the driving force that keeps me coming back for more and creating products that I hope you love.
When not working on The Novelty House, I teach English and History at a local high school! Despite that I have very typical introvert hobbies like reading, video games, and generally embracing my solitude.
